Bruce K Beck

Bruce K Beck is both a writer and an accomplished chef. Before turning to fiction, he wrote PRODUCE: A FRUIT AND VEGETABLE LOVERS’ GUIDE, which was called “gorgeous” by The New York Times, “a dazzler” by Bon Appetit, and “the most spectacular food book of the year” by The Boston Globe. His next book was THE OFFICIAL FULTON FISH MARKET COOKBOOK, which was called “invaluable” by Jacques Pépin, and “a treasure” by Irene Sax of Newsday. And Rex Reed said, “. . .you’ll love this book. It’s like a movie!”

Praise for Volumes I & II

James Gavin

(author of Is That All There Is?: The Strange Life of Peggy Lee, and Stormy Weather: The Life of Lena Horn)

“Bruce K Beck’s debut novel brings us a naturally gifted and richly imaginative storyteller whose characters leap off the page. YOU'RE SURE TO FALL IN LOVE sweeps us back into a Summer of Love that is sure to remind readers of how it feels to be young and starry-eyed. I didn’t want this book to end!”

Philip F Clark

(Author of The Carnival of Affection)

"Bruce K Beck's LOVE AND THE EPIDEMIC is a beautiful, clear-eyed memory of friends lost to AIDS. Without sentiment, and with deep respect, the narrator remembers their lives vividly and joyfully. Beck brings us to the edge of grief, but at last he helps us see not just loss, but rather the great love and friendship that marked one of our darkest times. The second volume in his trilogy, it can be read on its own, but you will be compelled to read the complete work. If memory is a solace, Beck's stories are a compelling and human response to what memory allows that is valuable and urgent in history."
